Christina Wallach, Founder and Lead Designer

What does historic Chartres cathedral have to do with state-of-the-art glass signage for Raychem, Columbia Pictures, Apple, and MCI, and cutting-edge Donor Recognition Systems for hospitals and universities across the country?

The answer is: Christina Wallach, the primary designer and principal of Amri Studio.

After her studies at UC Berkeley and the Sorbonne in the 1970's, Christina apprenticed in Paris with a fourth-generation stained-glass studio where she worked on the restoration of stained-glass windows throughout France, including the famed windows of Chartres. During her training, she mastered all the elements of designing, detailing, and shaping glass as an art form.

Christina has since developed highly innovative techniques for bas-relief carving in heavy plate glass and crystal. She also discovered a method of creating true V-cut letterforms in glass. Thanks to her expertise and innovations, Amri Studio produces some of the most unique art glass and signage forms available today.

During its 25 years, Amri Studio has evolved from a shop in a garage to the sophisticated design and fabrication facility it is today. Christina is widely asked to consult and collaborate with the country's leading architects, and interior and graphic designers as well as corporate and private administrators.
