In this touching, etched-crystal tribute to Dr. Dwight W Burney Jr, a photo from his 30 years of service as an orthopedic surgeon at Nebraska Medical Center is superimposed on a snapshot taken when he was an aspiring young medical student. These two photos portray the facets of Dr. Burney’s character that his widow, who made the lead gift in the establishment of a state-of-the-art neurological patient care unit, most wanted memorialized: his personal strength, commitment, and sense of humor.
