OUR CRAFT

Initially our work in crystal and glass involved etching, carving, polishing, and gold-leafing. Thanks to Christina Amri’s innovations, we now can do bas-relief carving in heavy plate glass and crystal, and create true V-carved letterforms, a monument-style technique once only possible in stone. This chisel-cut technique creates three-dimensional lettering, which catches the light and reads beautifully at quite a distance with ambient or spot lighting.

We frequently work with multiple layers of crystal, creating both overlay and see-through effects enhanced by LED edge-lighting in white and colored light. Glass acts as its own fiber optic, transmitting light directed at its edge across its entire surface. The effects of edge-lighting in soft multiple colors are outstandingly beautiful.

We have also developed truly cutting-edge techniques for adding interactive lighting to our pieces. Our computer-controlled, sensor-triggered lighting systems can brighten or change colors based on the approach of a viewer, a feature that delights children and adults alike.
