Amri Studio was asked to design an public art presentation for the hospital’s renovated lobby, including a main Donor Wall, Heritage Center, and coordinating signage. Based on the hospital’s long history in the community and the importance of the nearby Rockford River to the growth of that community, the theme of flow was chosen. The timeline in the Heritage Center portrays the flow of history, while a stunning 3-D crystal mural depicts the flow of the river and the generosity that has flowed from the hospital’s donors.
Portrayed as a snowy riverbank at dawn, the Donor Recognition Wall contains hundreds of chisel-cut, monument-style names of major donors currently helping the Medical Center, plus inspirational quotes. The LED edge-lit crystal panels create a memorable environmental signage landmark at the convergence of myriad traffic corridors for this busy Medical Center.
In addition, Amri Studio created coordinating carved and etched crystal signs for the hospital Chapel and Auxiliary Lobby Gift Shop. The chapel sign is richly laden with gold leaf. The gift shop sign depicts the Auxiliary’s founding president.
